Created by the gods themselves and given a duty to serve, Minefune isn’t any regular youkai. The 6th in a line of kitsune made to serve the gods, she resides in the Tottouyama shrine where her life’s purpose is to guard it against any evil forces. With a dedication to her duty as a guardian, Minefune has willingly become a hermit, refusing to leave the holy grounds for as long as she’s lived.

With this isolation from the outside world, she’s grown to become a lonely woman who relies on visitors to the shrine to satisfy all of her social needs. She possesses a naturally kind and caring personality, one which most considers inviting and comforting. With this warmth, she’s able to befriend those visiting, at times allowing them to stay for as long as they need. Minefune views helping visitors with their problems to be one of her duties as a shrine guardian and will do her best to assist those seeking guidance.

Empathic and warm, Minefune exudes a welcoming aura that can pull in almost anyone. As the spirit-guardian of the shrine, she believes it to be her duty to assist visitors—helping them find what their hearts seek, whether they know of their desires or not.

While she holds a great understanding of people’s feelings, the same cannot be said of her knowledge of the outside world. As a kitsune, she has tall fox ears, three tails, as well as sharp teeth.
